A buzzing, clicking, humming, roaring noise from inside the transmission is usually a symptom of a bad bearing, planetary gears damage, or other internal problem. A buzzing could also come from a bad internal sealing surface, a seal, or low transmission fluid due to a leak. Car has no power. On the pictures below you can see the behaviour of a healthy 210 EIS. 30mA on idle. If the current is 20mA or 40mA, or even bigger difference, there is a very big chance that the EIS has some problems. These EIS go to sleep mode very quickly and current drops to 0. It can be waked-up with inserting any key. Check underneath your Mercedes after the engine has been off for a while and look for any signs of a fluid leak. Motor oil is a dark brown/black color as opposed to transmission oil, which is red/brown. If you notice either, your electronic transmission is experiencing an oil leak. New MB plate with sensor is about $180, plus a full ATF change is about $100, filter kit (MANN) about $20. You would need an ATF dipstick which is about $25 and torque wrench with pklldOB.
