I bought a Kinect yesterday from a pawn shop and when I brought it home it didn’t work and it looked exactly like the Xbox ine Kinect when I returned it the lady said there were two different Kinect and one doesn’t work with the adapter and a 2.0 does so I was a bit confused and don’t want to buy another one for the same thing to happenTo be honest I bought the Kinect with my Xbox one when it came out. And saw that it’s no longer supported with the series x. The only reason I use Kinect is for my media remote from Xbox, so I’m just hoping that by buying the official Xbox adapter and using with Kinect that I can use the Kinect for its IR so that I can use the remote for movies and tv shows on the couch 🤷🏼‍♂️ There are two SDKs depending on the version of Kinect you have. Version 1.8 for Kinect v1 and version 2.0 for Kinect v2. You can develop applications with Kinect within Visual Studio with the native languages of Microsoft C # and Visual Basic. There are other, “simpler” alternatives. One of them is to work with Processing. The problems with the Kinect turning off continued. So I went a step further and plugged the XBox One directly into the wall outlet. With the XBox One plugged directly into the wall outlet, the Kinect stopped turning off randomly. If I had to choose one purely for kinect, I would probably look for a well kept og xbox model if you can find one. I do already have the og xbox one and one x with kinect adapter/kinect. The kinect adapter is annoying because it needs an extra outlet to be plugged in and also uses up one of the 3 usb ports on the one x.
