Watch some reviews first. My acer TN 144hz 1440p panel is absolutely fine for gaming, and youtube content. First think, what are you going to be doing with your monitor, how powerful is your video card, then where are you going to be with your monitor. Finally, consider how are you going to upgrade in the future.

VA panels provide a good middle ground with better-than-IPS refresh rates and contrast levels, but have worse viewing angles and color production, although generally still better than TN.

Yes, the blacks are darker and the contrast is better - but I still think IPS is superior. Although VA panels have good color accuracy by now, it still looks "washed" out and kinda wrong (I tested multiple VA monitors, including the Samsung G7) - IPS looks a ton better in my opinion!
The XE70 does not have any dimming zones so in this case an edge with VA panel would be better than direct with IPS. Edge VA without dimming vs IPS with dimming zones you would get more HDR effect with the IPS model. And when both have dimming it will also matter how many zones.
I had a different va before, the aoc g32cq1, it was completely fine for my eyes. I tried to find a good va panel monitor for gaming and working. I found only two monitors which is VA panel and has 2ms grey to grey response time. The odyssey g7 and equivalents + the dell s2722dgm. I kept the dell in the end because of the curve. qmCm.
